The name ‘elbee’ has two parts; ‘el’ and ‘bee’. Among ancient Israel’s neighbours, people referred to the most powerful god as ‘el’ which is not actually a name, but an ancient Semitic title for ‘god’. It could refer to many gods, but the chief deity of all the other gods was simply titled ‘el’ meaning ‘The god’. elbee simply means ‘The god of bees’, having dominion over bees. Having dominion over a living creature is not a license to abuse it, but a contract from God to care for it.
The principal aim of elbee Apiculture Co-operative Society is to create great products that consumers can enjoy whilst creating a satisfying income stream to support each of our beekeepers, and all our direct and indirect beneficiaries.
